General Information : The students that achieve a satisfactory grade at the University Entrance Exams or direct pass conditions are admitted to the pre-license program of the Department. Foreign Trade Program is a social program and has 2 years curriculum. It covers concepts of foreign trade, its theory, laws and applications.The education is given in Turkish.  
Qualification Awarded : The Pre-License Degree in Foreign Trade Program is awarded to students who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum and they become ? Foreign Trade Technician?.  
Level of Qualification : Short Cycle (Associate?s Degree).  
Specific Admission Requirements : High School Diploma Placement through a centralized national university placement examination.  
 Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal and informal) : The rules and regulations for recognition of formal prior learning are well defined. Transfer can be made among the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council. The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department ,on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs from which they have graduated. Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Suleyman University and hence of the Computer Technology and Programming Departmentis not an exception to this. However, exams of exemptiona re organised at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language and Computer Skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means,and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum.  
 Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). These levels allow institutions to structure a particular qualification and regulate progression through the qualification. Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Programme Profile : It is objectived to raise member as follows ? is aware of Ataturk´s principles, informed in the matter of history reforms, ? to be able to use Turkish properly, ? to be able to use mathematic abilities in professional field. ? to be able to use English efficiently ? to be able to explain basic concepts, aims and relations with environment of business, be able to comprehend business´s functions and relationships among these functions ? to be able to understand and interpret national and international political and economic facts and changes ? to be able to know and prepare the documents used in foreign trade transactions ? to be able to comprehend payment methods and foreign exchange obligations in foreign trade ? to know legal and commercial rights and obligations of the parties in foreign trade transactions ? to able to pursuit and practice customs transactions ? to able to comprehend legislation on foreign trade incentives and follow and interpret change in the legislation ? to be able to practice on the process of finance, accounting and taxation of foreign trade transactions. ? to know basic functions of international transport and logistics and to be able to operate ? to know writen and verbal communication rules, to own efficient communication skill  
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples : The graduates of the Pre-license programme in Foreign Trade Department have opportunities of employment in a variety of state and private funded companies. The main state companies were they can work are foreign trade and related departments of academic instutions as academic staff and governmental bodies and enterprises as pre-licese graduate Foreign Trade holding Pre-License Degree play a key role in industries. Foreign trade graduates can work in foreign trade companies, customs, marketing and sales ,as technical or managerial personnel.  
 Access to Further Studies : Graduates with the Pre-license Degree in Foreign Trade may apply undergraduate programs in related fields by DGS exam.  
Aims Of Programme : To raise foreign trade experts who will contribute to the challenge of the foreign trade companies of our country to find new potential foreign markets; who can think global and act local; who are equipped with applicable knowledge and ability; who can operate in multinational atmosphere in the highly competitive environment that is consequence of globalization.  
 Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : As a general rule assessment is based on 1 mid-term (%40) and 1 final exam (%60) per course. Various courses may demand course works or quizes.  
Graduation Requirements : Getting all courses those are necessary for graduation in legal duration and graduating from the program by carrying out all the courses successfully with a minimum General Grade Average of 2.00.
