The student who taken this course will have the basic knowledge of probability, random variables and their special functions, probability distributions, and sampling.

1. Use concepts of probability, random variables, and probability distributions to represent uncertainty within phenomena,
2. Recognize several common probability distributions,
3. Solve probability computation problems,
4. Summarize data using measures of central tendencies and variation,
5. Identify random sampling procedures,
6. Compute confidence intervals associated with measures of central tendency and variation.
Course Contents
Descriptive statistics, probability theory, discrete and continuous random variables and related distributions, sampling and confidence intervals based on single sample.
