Course Aims
Students will be introduced to basic scientific programming techniques and problem-solving strategies using examples and case studies drawn from the material presented in Topics in Math. Phys. and/or ODEs.
Course Goals
Understanding of numerical techniques of Differential equations
Applications of numerical techniques to the physical problems.
Conversion of a physical problem to a programming language with numerical techniques.
Comparision of analytical and numerical solutions.

Course Contents
Application of computational techniques to problems in physics. Numerical solution of differential equations. Computation and display of particle trajectories in arbitrary potentials. Introduction to non-linear dynamics. Random numbers and Monte-Carlo methods. Numerical implementation of selected methods in mathematical physics.
