Course Aims | Understanding and learning of basic principles and technical properties about lightweight aggregates and concretes (with laboratory applications). |
Course Goals | 1)Understanding and learning of basic principles about lightweight aggregates and concretes.
2)Understanding and applying technical properties about lightweight aggregates and concretes (with laboratory applications). |
Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit | 1)Bring the basic concrete technology into life
2) Understanding lightweight concrete and its constituents.
3) Learning concrete production techniques.
4) Capability to use the Standard knowledge for engineering applications.
5) Having enough durability knowledge under severe conditions for concrete. |
Course Contents | Introduction. Natural and industrial materials. Petrography, Light, Normal and high aggregates, Lightweight and Nortmal Aggregate Concretes. Elastic and plastic behaviour. Fracture under uniaxial loading. Technological properties (hardness, abrasion resistance, impact resistance). Ultra-high strength concretes. Concrete mixes and tests. |
