Course Aims
To introduce the fundamentals of materials selection, use the charts of materials selection; make to gain the selection skills for the suitable materials selection and processes
Course Goals
1) To understand the factors affecting the importance and steps for materials selection,
2) To explain the properties of strength, toughness, fatigue and creep
3) To read and explain the values read from the various materials selection charts and select the suitable material,
4) To evaluate the relationship between the materials selection and design
5) To explain the relationship between the selection of materials and process and use the charts
