Course Aims
Understanding and learning of some basic principles and technical properties about engineering materials (with laboratory applications).
Course Goals
 
Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit
1) Bring the basic scientific and engineering informations into life
2) Understanding engineering structures and material properties.
3) Design of engineering structures and projecting the basic knowledge, and the basic knowledge required to design, to the horizon and skills.
Course Contents
Binder materials:Gypsum,lime,puzzolanas, Portland cements: manufacturing, physical and mechanical properties. Aggregates:properties and tests,aggregate mix.design.Concrete:factors effecting strength. Properties of fresh concrete,mix design,production of concrete.Properties of hardened concrete.Durability of concrete and concrete design with respect to durability, Quality control. Types of concrete. Destructive and non destructive test morhods. Ceramic, plastik and wood materials.
