Course Aims
The aim of this lecture is to give information about structural systems and structural behaviors, about calculation of the internal forces and structural displacements, to form basement for Structural analyses II.
Course Goals
 
Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit
1) Digest the basic assumptions of the structural mechanics
2) Establish mathematical model of the structures
3) Solve the statically determinate structures
4) Be able to use energy methods for isostatic structural systems
with displacement & deflection.
Course Contents
General knowledge, structural systems, loads. Assumptions & idealizations at structural analyses. Support reactions, internal forces, equilibrium equations.. Calculation of the static loads of plane isostatic systems, diagrams of internal forces. Isostatic plane systems, simple beam, console beam, Gerber beam, frames & arches, truss systems. Influence lines, simple beams, Gerber beams and influence lines of trusses.
