Course Aims
Density functional theory (DFT), the Schrödinger equation describing the quantum behavior of atoms or molecules is a very successful approach to find solutions. In addition, solid state physicists and materials scientists in the design of new materials and the study of the electronic and optical properties of the crystal structure has an important place with DFT. In this context; the aim of this course is to provide some important properties of quantum mechanics and DFT approaches.
Course Goals
The course is designed for students who want to do the DFT calculations of the design of material or crystals. Ultimately, the researchers aimed to make practical calculations.

Structural, electronic and optical properties of crystal of the determination by the DFT
Course Contents
Basis of density functional theory, DFT calculations for crystals, DFT for the surface investigation.
