Course Aims
To give detailed information on terminology of Turkish and Islamic architecture and plastic arts, and to display their meanings and connections, and to demonstrate developments and evolutions in their contexts


Course Goals
1. to give detailed information on terminology of Turkish and Islamic architecture and plastic arts
2. to explain Turkish and Islamic art terms and their connections and interrelations
3. to make comparision between universal and local usage of the terms and to explain differences and their reasons
Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit
Students who pass the course will be able to:
1. have knowledge about the terminology of Turkish and Islamic architecture and evolution of the terms through the history
2. have knowledge about the terminology of Turkish and Islamic plastic and visual arts and evolution of the related terms
3. get familiar with the terminology of the instruments which are used in production of Turkish and Islamic art works.
4. have knowledge and ideas on the alterations in consequence of interactions between Turkish and Islamic art and arts of other civilizations and cultures, and also their contrubutions to the different arts
Course Contents
The lecture,
studies and discusses mainly the terminology of Turkish and Islamic arts and architecture. Besides it involves discussions on their meanings and connections, also on the developments and evolutions in their contexts
