Course Aims
Objective of this course to enable students to have a comprehensive knowledge on the protection of refugees under international law.

Objective of this course to enable students to have a comprehensive knowledge on the protection of refugees under international law.
Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit
Students will learn the definition of a refugee and elements of a refugeehood.
Students will learn about temporary protection and its international framework.
Students will learn the international legal framework for the protection of refugees.
Students will learn international law principles that apply to refugees.
Course Contents
This course focuses on protection of refugees within the 1951 Geneva Refugee Convention. The definition of a refugee, elements of refugeehood, rights of refugees under the 1951 Convention, the principle of non-refoulement, burden sharing and relationship between refugee law and human rights law will be examined within the scope of this class.
