Course Aims
The aim of this course is that products are stored for a long time without spoiling, microwave drying is one of the drying methods used to teach the concept
Course Goals
To determine the quality changes that can occur in products during the microwave drying of agricultural products.
To compare energy consumptions which occur during microwave drying with other drying methods.
To determine agricultural products suitable drying or not and also the quality changes that can occur in products during the microwave assisted drying systems.
Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit
Makes the drying processing by using microwave drying method
Knowledgeable with microwave drying of agricultural products.
At the same time understand the importance of microwave drying for industrial applications.
Course Contents
Fundamentals of microwave drying, advances in microwave drying, advantages of microwave drying, equipment for microwave drying systems, industrial applications, microwave assisted drying systems, guidelines for successful microwave drying, economics of microwave drying systems and up to date knowledge and methods used for microwave drying of various fruits and vegetables.
