Course Contents : What does biotechnology means? Structure and characteristics of DNA as genetic material, genes and their functions, gene transfer methods, gene cloning: enzymes used for cloning, vectors and hosts, gene resources, molecular hybridazation methods, DNA izolation and visualization, DNA sequencing, PCR, biotechnological applications: genetic disorders, gene therapy, sex and paternity test, transgenic animals and plants,recombinant products in food industry.

Course Goals : To provide demonstrations of the structure and function of DNA, RNA, chromosomes, and genes.
To offer a definition of biotechnology, including examples of real-world applications.
Course Aims : To teach basics of biotechnology and the latest biotechnological developments.
