Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit : 1- Understanding of electrical theory of matter, elementary electrical phenomena, Coulomb?s Law, electric field intensity, the electric field due to point charges, the electric field due to charge distributions, Gauss law, electric potential; potential difference, potential due to a point charge, equipotential surfaces, conductors and charge transfer, capacitance, the energy of charged capacitor, energy in an electric field, effect of dielectrics.
2- Understanding and developing of electric current, the electron gas, Ohm?s law, energy dissipation in conductors, electromotor force, simple electric circuits, combination of resistors.
3- Understanding of the magnetic field due to a moving charge, magnetic force on a moving charged particle, magnetic field of an electric current, Biot-Savart law, ampere law, the force on an electric current, the force between two parallel wires carrying currents, magnets, magnetic materials.
4- Understanding of motional electromotor force, electromagnetic induction, Faraday?s law, Lenz?s law, electromagnetic induction with a constant magnetic field, self-induction, electromagnetic waves.
5- Understanding of measurement of alternating current, instantaneous and effective values, inductance in a AC circuit, vector diagram for an AC circuit, power in an AC circuit, capacitance in an AC circuit, capacitance, inductance and resistance in series, resonance in an AC circuit, the transformer.
