Course Contents : Historical development of environmental education. Philosophy of nature conservation. Environmental problems, causes and effects. Environment and sustainable development. New trends, international developments and progress in environmental education research. Formal and informal environmental education. Environmental awareness and education in outdoor areas. Environmental education in outside of school areas. Organisations related to environmental education. Design approaches encouraging environmental awareness.

Course Goals : To give students an understanding about general principles of environmental education methods and ability to reflect these into landscape planning and design projects.
Course Aims : This course aims to give students an understanding of environmental education methods and equip them with necessary skills to design environmentally friendly landscapes.
