Course Contents : The concept of the soil friction, Internal and external friction of the soil, Determination of the Internal and external friction, Soil cutting, Shear streng and shear stress, The relationship between shear and normal stres, Force distribution in the soil, Forces acting on the direction to the depth of soil, Forces acting on the direction to soil surface. Soil kinematics, Specific soil resistance.

Course Goals : 1- know the power requirement of working into the soil.
2- deterine to the shear strength depend on soil type.
3- relation between the soil mechanical properties and tillage machines
4- know the forces of shear strength of soil.
Course Aims : Basic relationships of soil mechanics, soil mechanical properties, structure, clay minerals and determination methods, cosistency, compaction, solidification, stress-strain relations, The concept and measurement of earth resistance, clasification of soils acording to mechanical properties, soil standards.
