Course Contents : Description of fatigue and fatigue mechanism. Types of fatigue loadings. Fatigue strength of materials and experimental measurement of fatigue strength. Fatigue strength diagrams. Classic design methods of components and structures for fatigue loadings. Low cycle fatigue. Essentials of fracture mechanics. Equations of crack propagations. Approach of fracture mechanic at fatigue loading. Tendencies of Wöhler, Smith, Soderberg, Goodman ve Gerber in life calculations.

Course Goals : 1) To teach materials behavior under dynamic and static loads

3) Life calculation deponding on material, loading and strain states,
4) Fracture mechanic application in life calculation
5) To give information about Wöhler, Smith, Goodman, Soderberg and Gerber theories.
Course Aims : To give about cyclic loading exposed to machine parts and evaluate the fatique failure to graduate students, to give information about measure againist the fatique such heat treatment, materials selection, ans some parameters. To gain the experiment design to students.
