Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit : 1. Be able to understand the nature of the natural and artificial radiation
2. Be able to compare the radiation doses from nuclear accident and nuclear power plant with the doses from natural radiation
3. Be able to evaluate the radiation doses according to radiation protection, health and environmental quality
4. Be able to assess the dose-risk to human health arising from environmental radioactivity
5. Be able to evaluate the effects of radiation on environment and population and being to make the study on this subject

Course Contents : Historical introduction and classification of radiation in environment, Natural and man made radiation, Radioactivity and radiation dosage units, Radioactive decay kinetics, Atmospheric, terrestrial and aquatic Radioactivity, Transport mechanisms, Radioactive equilibrium, determination of half-life and mean life, Radioactive Pollution from Nuclear and Coal Power Plants, Radioactive waste and waste technology, Effects of radiation on human health, The medical applications of radiation, Radiation Protection, Radiometric age determination methods, Environmental Radioactivity Measurement Methods

Course Goals : 1.to provide a graduate education program with specific knowledge about Water Management discipline areas.
2. to train graduates who have ability to access and interpret information with considering scientific research process
3. to train graduates who are able to do conceptual design related to theoretical and practical studies
4. to train graduates who cooperate in partnership with the area outside the discipline within planning priorities and needs of the scope of work
5. to provide a graduate education program which encourage to present thesis data in written and oral scientific platforms
