General Information : Egirdir Fisheries Faculty has been established as Egirdir Fisheries Collage depend on Akdeniz Universty Engineering Faculty in Isparta at 1982. After that Egirdir Fisheries Faculty connected the Suleyman Demirel University at 1992.  
Qualification Awarded : After successful completion of the program, students will be awarded Fisheries Engineer.  
Level of Qualification : First Cycle (Bachelor?s Degree).This is a first cycle degree program in Fisheries Engineering (240 ECTS).  
Specific Admission Requirements : Students who want to enroll in undergraduate programs, the university's academic and legal framework of regulations set by the YÖK in the process to complete and exams are required to have succeeded. Student admission to the program and application requirements before starting the academic year is published in (w3.sdu.edu.tr) SDU. Internet address. Domestic or foreign equivalent in education started in the program can apply for a student transfer. Admission of students before the beginning of the semester, each student taking into consideration the requirements are reviewed and evaluated. With an agreement approved by the University and student exchange programs designated boundaries (eg Erasmus) students coming from abroad they can take under the Faculty of Fisheries the courses given in English . If you have knowledge of Turkish language proficiency students Syllabus specified in `class can register any Turkish. In this context, our university students who want to come to the program application and registration process External Relations Director are made to the Erasmus Office. Application process and procedures related to the detailed information is available Erasmus Office's internet address (w3.sdu.edu.tr).  
Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal and informal) : The rules and regulations for recognition of formal prior learning are well defined. Transfer can be made among the vocational schools of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council. The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department, on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs from which they have graduated. Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Süleyman Demirel University is not an exception to this. However, exams of exemption are organized at the start of each year at the University for the courses of computer skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for this course on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from this exam are held exempt from related course in the curriculum.  
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). These levels allow institutions to structure a particular qualification and regulate progression through the qualification. Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Profile of The Programme : To train fisheries who are equipped with broad background knowledge of fisheries, who have the ability to refresh their knowledge continuously, who have the skills of problem-solving in their study fields theoretically or experimentally, who have the necessary social skills for working in a research team, who are willing to follow the technological developments and who are interested in the contemporary issues of the century.  
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples : The graduates of license in Fisheries department have opportunities of employment in a variety of state and private funded companies. The main state companies where they can work are fisheries and related technician departments of governmental bodies and enterprises as engineer. Fisheries Engineers holding associate Degree play a key role in industries. The Fisheries Bodies such as aquaculture, fish processing, fishing vessels, water quality, aquarium, diving centers are the employment areas of today's Fisheries Engineer. All these depend on fisheries engineer to the requirements of their products of fisheries industries. Fisheries engineer can work in quality and process control, manufacturing, safety, research, technical assistance, and marketing and sales, as technical or managerial personnel.  
Access to Further Studies : Upon a successful completion of the program, student may continue with MSc study in the same or similar scientific areas, which accept students from Fisheries Department.  
Aims Of Programme : Fisheries Engineering is an engineering field interested farming and processing evaluation and fishing of living in these sources with marine and inland water resources. Special purpose of education, water resources and characters of water living, fishing, farming, processing and assessment, in resource management issues have to knowledge, this information in the field of application is to teach the general objectives of the society who need the necessary and sufficient equipped to train engineers.

Program Learning Outcomes
1 Physical, chemical and biological characteristics of water resources, ecological relationships formed from these sources, the management of this relationship and this relationship to know how they affect water products
2 Biology and basic taxonomy of the species and populations living in water resources, identification of life cycles, to know ecological relationships, reproduction, nutrition, migration characteristics, distribution and habitat preferences
3 Fishing, farming, processing in the natural environment and to have preservation engineering capabilities which are necessary to the process (analysis, observation, measurement, calculation, project making and interpretation, problem solving, presentations, etc.)
4 To have ability access to information, communication, data collection, computer records using, classification, statistical analysis, graphing, charting, reports, pricing
5 Employer, company or in private business, social and ethical duties in accordance with the rules, to take responsibility, authorized use, with the media to communicate healthy
6 Published in any foreign language, general and professional documents analyze and understand are able to make assessments on these texts and edit the article reports
7 The use of small-scale water vehicles, fishing methods, conscious use of these methods, able to make the necessary changes in methods.
8 The species of aquaculture farming, to know seed production, maintenance, nutrition, health protection and disease diagnosis and treatment methods and to apply in the field
9 To know basic processing, preservation and the quality control rules and to implement it to the field.
10 Quality of water resources and pollution, protection, control, sustainable management of resources to do their work
11 Fisheries research in the field, analysis, production, cultivation, processing, devices and techniques used in the treatment of diseases and to use measuring tools
12 Fisheries-related institutional organizations, the applicable legislation and the practical applications of this legislation
13 Water resources, water living organisms, farming, processing, and to preparation projects in fishing issues, to implement these projects, to serve in this project
14 Aquaculture business management and organizational issues, research, farming, fishing, processing, preservation in the context of marketing consulting, engineering and management able to make responsible.
15 Having written and oral communication proficiency, can be interpreter thinkable, and the obtained results can be analyzed, can transmit information to others thoughts and observations, to generate alternative solutions to problems
