General Information : Civil Engineering department was established in 1976 under Isparta State Academia of Engineering and Architecture and involved Akdeniz University under Isparta College of Engineering in 1982. In 1992, with foundation of Suleyman Demirel University, Civil Engineering department joined College of Engineering and Architecture. Civil Engineering department offers both undergarduate and graduate degrees. Graduate degree covers MSc and PhD levels. Undergraduate degree covers general civil engineering areas. Graduate degree covers different options in civil engineering.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). These levels allow institutions to structure a particular qualification and regulate progression through the qualification. Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Profile of The Programme : Civil engineering department is one of the main engineerings working with different materials and techniques. Civil engineering is accepted as the main civilization tool for the countries.  
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples : 1.Bridges, highways, tunnels, railroads, airports, port structures
2.Water supply and distribution, sewerage web, water pipe line
3.Electricity power, irrigation, dam and pond structures
4.Foundation projects, Soil structures
5.Structural Analysis (Column and beam selection in steel and R/C structures)
6.Project delivery, damage analyses, retrofit and strengthening
7.Structural control

 
Access to Further Studies : To provide adequate conditions for different disciplines ( Architecture, Environmental Engineering) Minor and Double Major opportunities are available.  
Aims Of Programme : To graduate civil engineers having knowledge of engineering basics and values, Ataturk?s principles and revolution, idealist and in this direction continuing to develop individual achievements and career; achieving engineering formation and having responsibly of career and ethics.  
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : % 40 mid-term exam, %60 final  
Graduation Requirements : Take all the courses required for graduation in the legal process and to be successful in this course provided that the program continues at least 2.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) and to complete intership to 60 days.  
Mode of Study (full-time, part-time, e-learning etc.) : 1. Class-based method
2. Problem-based methods
3. Visual and practical methods
4. Discussion-based methods courses such as processing methods are applied. These methods are supported in themselves by laboratory studies, project studies and technical tours.
 

Program Learning Outcomes
1 Having value of career and ethics at natinal and international level and having knowledge of aim and principles of civil engineering at international level.
2 An ability to use communication and manegement skills
3 An ability to have a satisfactory knowledge and capacity of information technolgy and civil engineering basics and to enable using in practice
4 An ability to identify, solve and model the engineering problems.
5 An ability to perceive, evaluate, analyse and practice the special civil engineering problems.
6 An ability to have a skill of organisation at practice and in-situ.
