General Information : Medical Biochemistry Department give education which have master and doctorate level. The basis topics are basic biochemical reactions, and parameters which reflects these during the healty operation of human tissue.  
Qualification Awarded : Master and Doctorate degree  
Level of Qualification : Second Cycle (Masters Degree)/ Third Cycle (Doctorate Degree).  
Specific Admission Requirements : For master programme, students have to be graduated from Science School or University of Science-Literature; Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry Department.
For doctorate programme, students have to be graduated from Medical School.
 
Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal and informal) : To ensure that undergraduate and graduate students, who are in taught course level, join to scientific studies performed in the department .  
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). These levels allow institutions to structure a particular qualification and regulate progression through the qualification. Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Profile of The Programme : Medical Biochemistry Department' aim is educated researchers who learnt the basis of biochemistry, learnt the research techniques of biochemistry and laboratory practise and may have take place at the multidisiplinary researches.  
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples : After students are graduated from master and doctorate proramme, they should work at Medical Schools, Research and Practise Hospitals and Health Care Vocational High School.  
Access to Further Studies : After succesfull completion of master program, students may apply for PhD courses or continue to another PhD program at a different department .
After succesfull completion of PhD program, students may apply for academic position in any higher education ınstutions.
 
Aims Of Programme : The aim of biochemistry education is to bring up a researcher which is specialized in biochemistry area and for this purpose to get teorical and practical knowledges to plan a research in this area.  
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : Examination assessment are made by the SDU Postmaster Educational Institution Regulations.  
Graduation Requirements : 21 credits must have been taken (120 credits for ECTS) for graduating from master programme, 24 credits must have been taken for graduating from doctorate programme.  
Mode of Study (full-time, part-time, e-learning etc.) : Full time education.  

Program Learning Outcomes
1 To be able to understand, to plan, to apply and to finish the research process independently and scientifically in a subject related to biochemistry.
2 To be able to learn and to progress the methods of biochemical researches; to be the best in these methods and skills
3 To be able to involve in the biochemical researches; to publish the results of the researches in national and/or international journals to contribute to science
4 To be able to understand the biochemical mechanisms, and the relations between reason and result
5 To be able to create new results and new approaches when faced with biochemical difficulties
6 To be able to apply knowledge and skills to solve problems to inter discipliner studies.
7 To be able to critic and analyze the new and complicated ideas.
8 To be able to teach and supervise the scientific, social and ethical values during collecting and evaluating biochemical data.
