General Information : Discipline of art history major, won a solid theoretical background of the candidates about the history of art and art-depth and comprehensive information, expertise provides  
Qualification Awarded : This program is second cycle degree program in the science of Art History (120 ECTS).
You will be awarded, on successful completion of the programme and gain competencies, a degree of master of arts in Art History

Specific Admission Requirements : Students, willing to enrol in this graduate programme, must comply with the legal and academic requirements to access the studies in The Suleyman Demirel University according to the process established by the YÖK (Higher Education Council) regulations. The detail information about the application (once or sometimes twice a year) and access requirements are released before academic year starts on its web site (http://sosyalbilimler.sdu.edu.tr/ENGLISH/).
Students who have started studies in other universities within or outside of the country may apply for their recognition. The recognition record is unique for each student and therefore the procedure is carried out accordingly before the start of each academic year.

Under an established exchanges program or one approved by the University, exchange students from abroad may be accepted for studies on the courses taught in English. Or, if they are confident in Turkish, they may then enrol in any courses, running in Turkish, shown on the ?Course Structure? diagram. For example, Erasmus students from abroad want to spend one term or two terms in a graduate programme at Süleyman Demirel University should apply to International Relation Office. Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal and informal) :  
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). These levels allow institutions to structure a particular qualification and regulate progression through the qualification. Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Profile of The Programme : The program gained a solid theoretical background of the history of art and art of the candidates in depth and provides comprehensive information specialization.

Aims Of Programme : The program in the department of Art History aim to train future art historians, either as researchers and academicians or prospective functionaries in the various walks of life

Graduation Requirements : In order to gain the degree, the student is required to have minimum 48 ECTS credits lectures (from the graduate course programme) and successfully completed them. Besides student must perapare at least one seminar work in specific topic which will his/her on a topic supervised by a senior lecturer. Then, the student should prepare a thesis after caring out a research on a topic supervised by a senior lecturer. On a successful submission of thesis, student is required to give a successful oral examination on his/her work.

Program Learning Outcomes
1 With the Master?s Degree on Art History, Science Specialization is achieved. This expertise enables the individuals to produce theories in the field of art.
2 They know all the methods within the scope of art history. By using these methods, they have the right to do science in an independent manner
3 They should have the ability to analyze, interpret and explain the works of art. They are also responsible for knowing the relationship between the works of art and history or culture. They know and interpret the development stages of art in historical process.
4 They have the right to see and search the original works of art located in different areas.
5 Getting the habit of working and making project based researches, they can perform a scientific study in the field of art history starting from a suggested thesis
6 They have the ability to do field work and use technological materials in conditions that their area of expertise requires.
7 With their knowledge of philosophy and theories of art, they are reviewers of art.
8 They have the information on Art Interactions.
9 They have information on Turkish and world art, and they know the effects of Turkish art on other arts.
10 They are able to think analytically and make reviews analogically. Besides, they are self confident enough to take their culture and art as reference, and they are competent enough to understand the facts of their age. Also, they are able to express their scientific problems with a scientific language.
11 They have the ability to share their scientific works with scientific communities at national and international meetings.
12 They are modern and sensitive about the protection and saving of natural, cultural and artistic presences.
13 They are open to different scientific disciplines and they have a multidisciplinary work style.
14 In order to optimize the profession, they are open to art and technology cooperation.
