General Information : To give Master?s degree Faculty of Science Biology graduates and to give Ph.D. Faculty of Medicine and Master's degree students in the Department of Medical Biology at Department of Medical Biology  
Qualification Awarded : M.Sc and PhD  
Level of Qualification : Second Cycle (Master?s Degree)/ Third Cycle (Doctorate Degree).Master level : To identify chromosomes, to be able to detect any changes in chromosomes, to study method of DNA isolation and DNA fragments length polymorphism
Doctoral level : to determine of Chromosome changes with more advanced studies (FISH) and mutations
 
Specific Admission Requirements : Master for : To be graduated from Faculty of Science Department of Biology or a four-year school-related health field
Ph.D. for : To have a master's degree from Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Medical Biology
 
Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, non-formal and informal) : To participate of Master's and doctoral students during lesson stages in the study carried out from Department  
Qualification Requirements and Regulations : National qualifications frameworks may contain levels (or intermediate qualifications) within the three Bologna cycles (e.g. a short cycle within the first cycle). These levels allow institutions to structure a particular qualification and regulate progression through the qualification. Qualification Requirements and Regulations are enacted by YÖK (The Council Of Higher Education) in Turkey.  
Profile of The Programme : Compulsory courses :general medical biology, cell biology, basic genetics, seminars, Lesson of Special Research Field
Elective courses: molecular biology, protein biochemistry, recombinant DNA technology, pedigri analysis and inheritance patterns, genetic counseling, Special Topics in Genetics, Bacterial Genetics, Introduction to Inherited Metabolic Diseases, Cytogenetic, Cytogenetic banding techniques, Basic Techniques in Molecular Biology, Biostatistics and Computer Applications
 
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples : Master's and doctoral students graduated from Department of Medical Biology was also involved in Faculty of Medicine Research and Application Hospital and Health Services Vocational School.  
Access to Further Studies : Medical biology, molecular biology and all areas related to cytogenetics  
Aims Of Programme : The objectives of the department are to offer high quality and specific theoretical and laboratory education in disciplines of molecular biology, cytogenetic and enzymes and to gain problem solving skills in Medical Biology and Genetics.  
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading : Education is made in accordance with Regulation Graduate SDU  
Graduation Requirements : To be completed to 21 credits (120 credit at ECTS) of master?s graduate courses and to 24 credits (240 ECTS) of Ph.D. courses.  
Mode of Study (full-time, part-time, e-learning etc.) : Full time  

Program Learning Outcomes
1 Giving discipline-specific theoretical and laboratory knowledge about molecular biology and cytogenetics
2 Gaining of acknowledge material, machine and tenique skills in the laboratuvary of molecular biology, cytogenetic and enzyme
3 Gaining of the drawing pedigrees for all kinds of inheritance
4 To educate researchers can isolate DNA from blood by using tecniques of manuel and kit
5 To be able to do migration of Genomic DNA and PCR products in agarose gel
6 Ganing of advance methods for solving a problem about department of medical biology and genetic independently.
7 Gaining of advance new strategies for a situation in medical biology and genetic practices
8 Using and developing of computer software and hardware related to genetic information
9 Applying of gained knowledge and problem solving skills in Medical Biology and Genetics for interdisciplinary studies
10 To educate researchers can be deside about data and knowledge
