Course Aims
-To understand principles of thermal radiation
-To teach provided a working foundation that can then be used to analyze the thermal comfort delivery characteristics of radiant heating and cooling systems
Course Goals
-Calculate radiation heat transfer between black surfaces
-Determine radiation heat transfer between diffuse and gray surfaces in an enclosure using the concept of radiosity,
-Obtain relations for net rate of radiation heat transfer between the surfaces of a two-zone enclosure, including two large parallel plates, two long concentric cylinders, and two concentric spheres,
Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit
-To be ability of analysis of radiation heat transfer mechanism
-To be ability of classification of thermal radiation
-To be ability of calculation radiation heat transfer between black and gray surfaces

Introduction, Radiation properties, Kirchhoff law, shape factors, Relations between shape factors, Radiation heat transfer between bodies, Infinite paralel planes, Radiation shields, Gas radiation, Radiation heat transfer between gas volume and enclosure surface
