A knowledge of and ability to apply theoretical and applied mathematics to model, analyze and solve engineering problems
Course Contents
Application of finite difference method to 1-D and 2-D heat transfer problems, finite difference equations for unsteady heat transfer problems, explicit and implicit methods, stability analysis. Variational methods, Ritz method, Galerkin method, application of finite element methods to the heat transfer problems, principles of finite volume method. Computer applications
