Course Aims
Gait analysis is the systematic study of human walking and provide the fundamentals of prosthesis, othoses, and humanoid robot designs for engineers. After the course, the student will be familiar with the subject including fundamental terminology, technique, and data interpretation used in gait analysis.

Human gait analysis to be used for humanoid robots
Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit
? Possess a working knowledge of equipment and techniques used in gait analysis.
? Understand fundamental aspects of three-dimensional joint kinematics and kinetics of the lower extremities during normal walking.
? Be aware of literature sources related to the field of gait analysis
? Able to use biomechanics knowledge to design prosthesis, orthesis and humanoid robots.

Introduction to gait analysis, Gait analysis techniques, 3D vs 2D approach to gait analysis, Limb rotation or Joint angles, Joint kinetics, Interpreting joint kinetic data, Human locomotion, Kinetics of human locomotion, Muscle biomechanics, Prosthetics, Orthesis, Humanoid robots
