Course Aims
Introduction of standards for natural stones and the CE mark certification, determination of engineering properties of natural stones, the main terminology used in experimental rock mechanics, preparation of samples for tests, rock mechanics experiments performed on natural stones, determination of the quality of natural stones.
Course Goals
Natural stone product certification standards sought and stages of the CE certification process
Introduction of the devices used in determining the engineering characteristics of natural stones
Knowledge of experimental rock mechanics
Able to design experiments in rock mechanics
Learning Outcomes of The Course Unit
Test equipment will be learned more closely and in detail.
Be able to practice current theoretical approaches and develop new theories
Learn to improve the experimental methodology
Course Contents
National and international standards related to natural stones, eligibility criteria to standards for rocks used in the industry, the CE conformity marking certification, determination of engineering properties of natural stones, preparation of samples for tests, rock mechanics experiments performed on natural stones, determination of the quality of natural stones.
