Course Contents : Definition of coal, physical and chemical characteristics of coal, petrographical properties and classification of coal, sampling, coal preparation methods, size reduction processes and the equipments in coal preparation , removal of ash forming minerals by HMS and gravitational techniquies, dewatering and size enlargement operations after cleaning processes

Course Goals : Understanding the importance of coal preparation methods in fine coal cleaning
Removal of the ash forming minerals from coal by physical separation methods
Evaluation of the fine coal cleaning outputs
Course Aims : This course is related with the definition of coal, physical and chemical characteristics, the effect of coal characteristics on coal utilization, the methods and the equipments in fine coal cleaning, the physical seperation of ash forming minerals from coal, dewatering applications after cleaning, particle size enlargements in fine coal processing.
